The multiwave lasers for cutting, welding, and heat-treating are available in 500-, 1,000 and 2,000-watt models. The laser has been used to weld mild and high-carbon stainless steels, mild steels and some free-machining alloys in the automotive industry. The design allows true square-wave and sine-wave modulation at up to 2.5 times the rated cw level. This allows the user to pierce faster for cutting and welding, cut reflective alloys, cut finer details in thick materials, weld thicker materials, and weld reflective materials such as aluminium alloys. Additional features of the line include compact size, easy integration, and a simple control scheme, says the builder. Both serial and parallel control interfaces are fully supported for any type of production equipment.
