The Speed Steel with 5% Cobalt made Boring Bars has single piece construction. Boring Bars are fully hardened to within 63-66 HRC. Shank is precisely ground with controlled tolerance. The design incorporates a tapered body diameter between the mounting shank and cutting end permitting bars to have strength and rigidity and minimising vibrations throughout a range of speeds and feeds. The single ended Speed Steel with 5% Cobalt made Boring Bars can be used for machining a variety of different sized holes, in a tool holder for lathe boring operations or can be mounted on a boring head for boring in a milling machine. These are available in standard sizes to suit standard tool holders and boring heads.
