The Carbon Steel made Centre Punches accurately hardened and tempered so that the point will withstand continuous use and the striking end will not splinter. This Carbon Steel made Centre Punches are ideal for clearly marking metal in work layout & making indentations in a work piece before drilling to ensure correct location of drill points. The working tips are cantered and ground to the correct angle [90 included angles] for increased efficiency in marking. The striking end is chamfered to prevent breakage.
Carbon Steel made Centre Punches are available in 3 types.
- Centre Punches-Heavy Duty: Single piece construction with hexagonal shank, these are amongst the strongest and most durable of Centre Punches. Working ends are accurately ground and the punch body is in premium powder coated finish.
- Centre Punches - Round Head: Single piece construction with round shank and round striking head. The knurling is clean and well cut to provide a positive finger grip. These ranges of punches have rust inhibiting black oxide finish.
- Centre Punches - Square head: Two piece constructions with round shank and square striking head. Clean cut knurling on the shank provides a positive finger grip. The 3/8" [9.5 mm] square head provides a larger area for striking & also prevents the punch from rolling off. These ranges of punches have rust inhibiting black oxide finish.
