The emulsification power of this softening agent is considerably improved in combination with soaps, sulphonates. Its dispersing ability promotes even distribution of chromes and fats through cross section of the leather and avoids drawn grain when used in semi-chrome tannage. It is used for stabilizing unstable fat liquor mixtures. Its use also produces a considerable improvement in the penetration and uniform distribution of the fat liquor.
