Product Profile of Crimp Fittings
Kitec plumbing system offers the cost benefits of traditional plumbing systems, without compromising the basic features of composite pipes, when used for plumbing, independently, as well as in combination with kitec composite pipes and fittings.Kitec plumbing pipes are manufactured as per internal standards and meet the requirements of bs 7291:part i:1990, the specifications for thermoplastic pipes and associated fittings for hot and cold water for domestic purposes and heating installations.Kitec plumbing pipes and associated crimp fittings are having pressure rating of 12.0 kg/cm2 at 23o c. And 6.0 kg/cm2 at 65o c. Kitec plumbing system can safely be used for 4 kg/cm2 pressure at 80o c. Working temperature.
Key Features of Crimp Fittings
- The sealing is on ID of pipe. The O ring grooves are surrounded by machined barbs. When crimp ring is pressed onto pipe by using crimping tool, the `O` ring gets compressed. This leads to compression of `O` rings leading to positive sealing. At the same time, the crimp ring forces the tubing on the barbs leading to permanent joint which is held together by crimped ring. All these design aspects contribute to water tight permanent joints.
- 1. Pipe is pushed over the insert.
- 2. Crimp ring is pushed until it touches the fitting.
- 3. Crimp ring is pressed onto pipe by using crimping tool.
