2hi cold rolling mills are heavy-duty mills designed for breakdown rolling of ferrous/ non-ferrous sheet and strip. The rolls are made of alloy steel, having high hardness [about 60-62 hrc] and are ground. The drive to the rolls is given through a combination of gear box - pinion stand - universal coupling spindle assembly. Gear box is a two-stage reduction unit having helical gears fitted in robust mild steel fabricated body.
