BOC India Ltd is into manufacturing of Industrial Gases, Shielding Gases, Medical Gases, Specialty Gases and Projects. This Industrial Gases include Atmospheric Gases and Process gases.
Atmospheric Gases were first produced by a chemical process. This was replaced by the cryogenic [low temperature] process where air is purified, compressed, cooled, distilled and condensed to produce Argon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Krypton, Xenon and Neon.
Air can also be separated using non-cryogenic processes like Pressure Swing Absorption [PSA], Vacuum Swing Absorption [VSA], etc. These are used for smaller volumes where purity requirement is lower. The Process Gases include Hydrogen, Helium, Carbon dioxide, Acetylene, and Specialty gases.
