Holding force of Alloy Alnico Power Magnets is measured subject to the following conditions:
- The magnet is magnetized to saturation
- The object to be held should be a solid piece of a FerroMagnetic material [such as a mild steel block] of sufficient thickness so that it does not attain saturation during this operation. It must not be in the form of very thin sheet or loose particles.
- There is close contact between the magnet poles and the surface of the object.
