Toshniwal industries has manufactured raytek thermalert sx which is a smart 2 wire infrared sensor providing a conventional analog 4 20 ma output and highway addressable remote transducer [hart] together with through the -lens sighting capability. These infrared sensors can communicate over 2 wire loop using hart for remote communication with sensor in either point-to-point or multidrop installation. The thermometers can provide simultaneous analogue and digital communication by super imposing frequency fsk signal on the analog signal. This allows networked control and communication from pc rs 232 serial port using a hart/rs 232 adapter. The company provides thermalert sx units in several focussing options and spectral responses with choice of four spectral responses [8 14 [m, 3.9 [m, 2.2 [m and 5 [m] and temperature ranging from 18°c to 2000°c, including a special unit for glass application. Laser aiming is also available on selected models in order to provide precise sensor alignment to pinpoint small targets.
