Bombay switchgear manufactures and supplies front drives, model 8uc6, designed to formulate reliable and safe operation of any switchboard or distribution board. The range includes four sizes for varying torque needs of commonly used switching devices, eg, fuse switch, rotary switches, mccb, etc. Ergonomical design of the unit simplifies operation. It is designed to withstand up to three times rated torque without suffering damage. Stops in the mechanism prevent small switching devices from being subjected to excess mechanical stresses. A latching characteristic ensures that the handle cannot be turned when the door is open. These front drives have an interlock. This locks the closed cubicle door when the front drives and switching device are in closed state. The interlock can be defeated for maintenance or repairs, unless the front drive has been padlocked. The drives are made of highly resistant, fiberglass-reinforced, self-extinguishing thermoplast. They have ip65 degree of protection.
