Devi polymers manufactures flosto panel type water tanks. Sheet moulding compound [smc] panels are designed by computer using finite element analysis. Panels have been extensively tested in laboratories as well as actual field conditions and have been found to be conforming/exceeding minimum industry standards for this product. Construction materials: specially formulated sheet moulding compound [smc] is used to make these panels. Smc is a mixture of isophthalic polyester resin, glass fibre, catalyst, uv stabisizer, pigment, filter and low profile additive. Salient features: a charge of smc is placed into a matched steel mould. Mould temperature is maintained around 140ºc and the charge is pressed at 1000 tones. A cure time of about 5 minutes is allowed for the formation of the rigid panel after which the press is opened and the moulded panel removed.
