Nagel-india offers precision vertical precidor honing machine, type p1-v1. Precidor honing is a fine machining process wherein the entire amount of stock is removed in one single working stroke. In doing so, roundness of <1.5 mm on small diameter bores, an accuracy of shape and close dimensional tolerances are achieved. The stroke speed is 1 to 2.0 mtr/speed while the circumferential speed is between 30-60 mm/min. The stroke position of the honing tool is set in such a way that the abrasive layer is guided through the entire bore in full length. Special diamond or cbn layers are used for machining of materials and ensure high life. The honing tool can be reset manually or automatically. The machine can also be offered in multi spindle versions wherein the higher stock is removed in stages and also for achieving shorter cycle time per piece. The common applications of precidor honing are in the areas of honing of crank bores, bearing housing of turbo charges, control housing, connecting rods, etc.
