Widia offers the widaselect tn 7000 series new generation inserts for steel machining, suitable for machining of coated hard metal. These are available in series tn 7005, tn 7010, tn 7015 and tn 7025. These combine new substrate with a completely new generation of coatings. The multiplayer cvd coating with state-of the art technology, having zirconium carbo nitride as top layer which adds an extra edge to wear-resistance properties opens up new dimensions to the turning of steel. Features of these grades include high wear resistance for long life and excellent toughness for high reliability. The recommendation of these grades encompasses medium roughing to finishing of steels [both cast and forged] of all kinds under stable condition at high cutting speeds of 250-350 mt/min. There is an increase in tool life by 40%.
