Mysore-based kirloskar electric company ltd offers digital inverters - victor g1000 that is a new series general-purpose inverter with state-of-the-art electronics. Victor g1000 includes the latest semiconductor power device - insulated gate bipolar transistor [igbt], diode module with thyristor [for changing] and a unique display unit with 4 seven-segment leds and 16x2 character lcd. The control circuitry is centred on a 16-bit micro controller. The control method used is space vector modulation [svm]that assures optimum utilisation of input voltage and facilitates smooth rotation of motor at low speeds. Advantages of these inverters include raise/lower operation; and output frequency setting can be increased or decreased with external potential free contacts. This unique feature eliminates the requirement for external reference units such as motorised potentiometers or static reference units. The features of these device are current limiting function, slip compensation, eight step speed control, three wire operation, dc injection braking and fault memory.
