Simplex strainers/filters are made of compact design, used as a preventive measure for the in-line equipments. These equipments are primarily instrumentations, such as flow meters, valves, pressure and temperature measuring instruments, turbines pumps, etc, used in oil, water and other chemical lines. These filters/strainers boost of compact design hence, their holding capacity is low but very effective for filtration upto 25 micron. Its construction: the body is of stream flow design made of close grained cast iron, stainless steel, gun metal, etc, as per temperature, pressure and liquid requirements. Its cover is fixed with the help of hinged bolts and nuts for easy removal of basket and quick cleaning. Element of strainers is of rigid design in stainless steel contraction perforated backing sheet. Wire mesh for filtration is used to provide durability and low pressure drop. Strainers are kept in position with the help of spring assembly to avoid by-pass of fluid.
