The Laminated Glass for Private Living Areas comes with three different classes based on type of security needed. The resistance of throw-through glazing is determined by a ball drop test. In throw-through glazing, each pane has to withstand three times the impact of a 4 kgs. Metal ball of 100mm diameter. The pane must not be penetrated by the ball or must not move more than 5mm in the supporting structure. Grading of the individual resistance classes is a result of the drop height of the ball determined in such a manner, that the pertaining impact energy corresponds to that of a heavy item thrown.
