General instruments corporation provides n f dem coating thickness gauges that are used for measurement of non-conductive coatings of non-ferrous surfaces. These thickness gauges work on eddy current principle. They give best results by zero setting and calibration done on the same uncoated job and check the thickness of coatings after coating features include non-destructive measurement; light, compact, rugged and reliable; and can be operated on 230 v, 50 hz ac with adopter. Technical specifications include range of 0-100 microns and 0-500 microns; accuracy of 1 micron or 5 per cent above 20 microns; measurable area 08 mm; measurable radius [convex 7 mm, concave 25 mm]; thickness of base 0.3 mm; and supplied with leather carrying case aluminium master and calibration foils. The coating thickness gauges are used for checking any non-conductive coatings on conductive surface, ie, anodising, paint, resinous coatings on aluminium, brass, copper or non-magnetic stainless steel, etc.
