Endress+hauser offers loop-powered level radar micropilot m. It obeys the requirement of simple commissioning and operation in using modern radar technology in industrial measurement instrumentation. The large, four-line, plain text display allows menu-driven on-site operation. The user is guided [step by step] using complete basic calibration. It offers the radar-signal as an envelope curve also on the instrument display. This gives information concerning the reliability of the instrument. A graphic operating tool [tof-tool] free of charge allows simple commissioning, optimising, diagnosis and the documentation of measuring points. Apart from the known frequency of approx. 6ghz, a second frequency of approx. 26ghz is introduced in micropilot m. The higher frequency enables use of small 1-1/2inch horn antenna, particularly in small nozzles and smaller tanks. The narrow beam angle prevents interfering reflections by baffles in tanks. Beside that, an accuracy of +/-3mm is achieved. The new instrument line of micropilot m in loop-powered technology includes three versions:
- fmr 230 [horn antenna] approx. 6ghz;
- fmr 231 [rod antenna] approx. 6ghz; and
- fmr 240 [small horn antenna] approx. 26ghz
They communicate by mean of hart protocol respectively, the connection to profibus-pa or foundation fieldbus. The assignment of the three instruments has been clearly determined.
