Mellcon engineers is a leading manufacturing company of compressed air/gas dryers, water chillers, air receivers and cold rooms. The company has diversified into manufacturing of psa nitrogen gas generators and has an association with sysadvance, portugal who have supplied many nitrogen plants world wide. Psa nitrogen gas plant is an inert gas atmosphere generator and incorporates two columns filled with carbon molecular sieves [cms]. Nitrogen is produced from compressed air. On pressurizing these columns with air, cms adsorbs oxygen, co2 and water molecules and leaves nitrogen as product. Any level of nitrogen purity up to 99.999% can be produced from this plant. This process is referred as pressure swing adsorption [psa]. All psa n2 plants will be supplied with refrigerated air dryer to get the maximum efficiency from cms. Advantages of psa nitrogen plant: pay back period is very attractive; cost of n2 gas is cheaper than cylinder required; easy to operate and no operator required; no variation in nitrogen purity; compact in size occupy lesser space; and no maintenance required as no moving parts involved.
