The Disposable and Reusable Pulse Oximeter Sensors are used with Pulse Oximeters and with Multi parameter monitors. These products are the interface between the patient & the Monitoring systems. Basically a two-sided probe transmits infrared light through body tissue, usually a fingertip. The Pulse Oximeter Sensors is most light will be absorbed by the tissue between the probes. The small amount of light that is not absorbed is detected by sensors on the other side of the probe, and this is used to measure oxygen saturation and heart rate. SpO2 can be measured at any place where a pulse is accessible. In practice, Oximetry is usually measured on fingers, the earlobe or, with infants, the bridge of the nose.
The Disposable sensors are one time use sensors. These are hygienic, avoid allergies etc. And are gaining importance since healthcare awareness is on a rise. Since it is used on one patient & only once, patients are more comfortable with these sensors. The reusable sensors as the name suggests can be reused. Currently it is being used widely but due to hygiene awareness the shift is more towards disposable sensors
