Bharat Electronics manufactures Hull Mounted Variable Depth Sonar. The product Hull Mounted Variable Depth Sonar is a dual array system which comes with two transducer arrays. One transducer in the Hull Mounted Variable Depth Sonar is an array for fixed depth operation and the second for variable depth operation. Hull Mounted Variable Depth Sonar has simultaneous active and passive reception facility. Enhanced system reliability is achieved by having single transmitting and receiving electronics for both arrays. During one echo ranging cycle, only one array can be employed. Hull Mounted Variable Depth Sonar Comprises of: HM [Hull mounted] transducer array with associated handling gear, VD [Variable Depth] transducer array with associated fish handling gear, Power Supplies, Transmitter, Receiver, Display and Controllers.
