Shenoy engineering offers boring and facing head which is self powered. The unit can be mounted on an `l` shaped bracket or boring backrest or even on a planer. It is an ideal and economic alternative for facing and boring of small diameters in large jobs, which otherwise would need expensive machines like floor borers, large vtls. Mounted on a frame, the unit becomes at-site, portable machine. The unit consists of a vertical slide unit, boring head and facing head. Boring head, which is mounted on the self-powered vertical slide, permits boring, milling, drilling, etc, operations. Different rotational speed rates are offered through either gears or through vfd or combination of both. The iso-50 spindle of the boring head accommodates a detachable, self powered facing unit. It is mounted in the spindle of the boring head through an iso-50 arbor. The rotary movement to the facing unit is received through the boring unit and depth of cut in facing operation is set through the vertical slide. Both the feed units are with their respective motors, worm reduction gearboxes, lead screws and box nuts. A common vfd provides step-less variable feed range to the axes movement. In the console a digital display of feed movement in `mm per minute` is provided. Imported, mercury based, brush less rotary electrical joint connector will ensure smooth rotation of the power cables of the cross feed motor through the spindle without being entwined or entangled. The male sliding surfaces are with case hardened guide way strips and the female sliding surfaces are turcite lined. Sliding and rotating surfaces are an automatic lubricated continuously.
