A single pole brass stem thermostat, duostat from elmech industries possesses the brand name elmi. These are provided with double pole safety cutout and widely used for water heaters, geysers, oil baths, boilers and various other similar applications. Duostat can save the mounting time because it can be plugged directly into the heating element with the help of fasten terminals. The opening of snap action switch in the duostat head is caused by the differential expansion of brass tube in conjunction with a bimetal rod. In case of abnormal temperature rise, the snap deflection of the bimetallic disc fixed on the base plat opens the cutout switch, which can be manually reset by pressing the reset button.
