Jvs electronics offers lead power factor relay with power factor phase angle and frequency relay. The regulated dc power required for the operation of the electronic circuitry is derived from the main pt voltage through a transformer, rectifier and filter. No separate auxiliary supply is required for the operation of this relay. The voltage and current signals are derived from the interposing transformers. The phase angle difference between these signals is monitored by a software based logic unit. The output of the logic unit is fed to a 7-segment led display through a display driver. The leading power factor condition charges the logic level of the relay drive circuitry and the output relay stays energised as long as the power factor remains leading. The relay reverts to de-energised condition when the power factor goes to lagging. The relay also displays phase angle between current and voltage, and line frequency upon pressing the respective push buttons and provided on the front of the relay. Features: software based design; trip indication with led; dust proof enclosure; compact size; digital display of power factor, phase angle and frequency.
