Electro Mechanical Rotary Encoder is a device that converts the angular position of a shaft or axle to an analog or digital code, making it an angle transducer. The Rotary Encoder is used in application that require precise shaft rotation including industrial controls, robotics, expensive photographic lenses, computer input devices [such as optomechanical mice and trackballs], and rotating radar platforms. The Rotary Encoder is available in two versions such as absolute and incremental type rotary encoder.
