This often leads to operating restrictions of compact components, for eg, the maximum permissible current cannot exceed 5 a due to the short air and creepage distance of such components. The large product families including x-com systems and multi-connection systems are certified both in the category xfcr as terminals and in the category ectb as connectors. This last category enables factory pre-assembled 5 mm pin spacing connectors to operate at a rated voltage up to 600 v and at a maximum current. This double certification gives the user the opportunity to choose whether a component is used as factory wired connector up to 600 or as field and factory wired terminal up to 300 v [or 600 v, 5 a].
