Smooth Finished Marine Plywood has 1.2 mm thick face veneers to provide good bending strength and stiffness and has a solid rigid body. The Plywood has bonding with BWP type phenol formaldehyde synthetic resin and is protected against delamination and attack by wood boring beetles. The Plywood can be availed from light to dark red brown sometimes with a purple tint, distinct from the grey or buff sapwood. The Plywood is straight grained, with a coarse texture. The Smooth Finished Marine Plywood has modulus of rupture along the grains of 650 kg/ square cm, modulus of rupture across the grains of 550 kg/ sq cm, modulus of elasticity along the grains of 90,000 kg/ sq cm, modulus of elasticity across the grains of 50,000 kg/ sq cm, glue adhesion in dry state of 135 kg, glue adhesion after 72 hours boiling of 110 kg, glue adhesion after mycological test of 110 kg, modulus of rupture of 1200 kg/ sq cm, modulus of elasticity of 1,75,000 kg/ sq cm and crushing strength of 750 kg/ sq cm.
