R m associates offers synthetic deep groove ball bearings. The outer and inner rings of these bearings are normally manufactured of acetal resin [pom]. The bearings have a cage of polymide [pa] 6.6 and balls of glass or, if required, of steel. The chemical resistance of the materials can be provided on request. The properties of the synthetic materials still limit the use of synthetic bearings. They feature a considerable lower carrying capacity than comparable bearings of steel, do not allow high speeds, and are not suitable for bearing arrangements calling for high rigidity or high precision. However, these are used in an increasing number of applications. The operating temperature should not exceed 50°c. These bearings are suitable for heavy-duty glass sliding windows, which can withstand corrosion weight and smooth movement of the windows. The speciality in this bearing is that it is having n larger area of contact. These are low rpm bearings with high wear resistance with built-in locking system with grub screws provided at the ends.
