Introduced by jenco valves mfg co presents poppet type solenoid valves. These are pilot pressure operated by energising the solenoid coil. The pilot pressure is availed either from self or external fluid supply. The valve can also be actuated manually by a push button to provide the means a] direct testing of connected equipment without energising the electrical circuit, b] emergencies to be taken care of due to power failure. For single solenoid valves the signal [solenoid] must be held continuously as long as actuation is desired while double solenoid valves need only a momentary presence of signal for actuation. Uses: these valves can be operated at high frequency up to 500 cycles per minute and hence are preferred for operation of cylinders, diaphragm actuators, etc, frequently for long life. The size of valve should be appropriate with the cylinder diameter, stroke and speed desired. 2-port valves are used for opening and closing of fluid flow.
