Imeco ultrasonics manufactures tube sealing systems to seal laminated, co-extruded and plastic tubes. The ultrasonic tube sealing system comprises pneumatically actuated horizontally mounted welding head, complete with convertor, booster, special alloy horn and anvil. A generator is used to create an alternating voltage with an ultrasonic frequency of 20 or 40 khz across a pzt crystal which converts it into mechanical vibrations. These vibrations are transmitted to a special alloy horn for sealing the plastic tubes. An exclusively designed shelf is provided to house generator, pneumatic controls and constant voltage transformer. Process details: on an assembly line, a filled tube with an open end entering the sealing stage activates a switch to start the sealing cycle. Pneumatic cylinders move the welding anvil and the ultrasonic horn to the tube. The open end of the tube is sealed. With the application of ultrasonic vibrations for a preset interval,
