Fluidtherm, an iso 9001 certified company has launched a suite of new products at imtex 2001 after a 4 year r&d effort. The fluidcard sealed quench furnace, designed from scratch from fundamentals and utilising high tech materials takes the pride of place. A unique circular furnace cross section designed with computational fluid dynamics software improves circulation, temperature uniformity and increases the heat emitting area within tie furnace while reducing wall losses. Following this is the flexicarb continuous and flexible carburising plant in which different case depth jobs can be processed simultaneously. The world`s first prototype of this plant [funded by csir] is scheduled for installation by june 2001. Ionin plasma nitriding furnaces, built with know how from the institute of plasma research is yet another offering. The most important however are mesh belt hardening plants of which several have been recently installed. These, totally automatic bin-to-bin plants are scada enabled and exhibit a high cpk value for mass produced components. Alsander is a plant developed for aluminium die casting units where solutionising of aluminium alloy castings, decoring and sand recovery takes place simultaneously. Also being offered are cryogenic tempering plants and boronising process and plants for improved tooling performance. All above are in addition to the standard fluidtherm range that includes fluidised bed furnaces pit and bell annealing furnaces, shaker/roller/rotary/bogie hearth furnaces, rotary retorts and cast belt furnaces and high convection ovens.
