Vulcan heavy duty air cooled arc welding transformer is marketed by canary electricals. It is designed for light, medium and heavy duty welding in metal fabrication industry. It is a stud type machine suitable for all general purpose heavy production work and outdoor fabrication site jobs in metal arc fabrication. High open circuit voltage [ocv] allowss welding with all types of special electrodes including, low hydrogen type for ac application. This machine has a spatter-free weld quality. Easy arc striking, smooth and stable arc are additional advantages of higher ocvs. Ocv also permits use of longer welding cables without the problem of welding lead resistance drop. It is dependable, sturdy, of fully tropicalised design and has an attractive appearance. Welding current regulation is achieved through a series choke. Variable current regulation, sturdy wheels and lifting eye bolts and indicator lamps are also offered. Hence, the machine is easily maneuverable from job to job. It includes other features such as instant response to arcing fluctuations, high efficiency, and considerably low maintenance requirements. All standard models are with copper winding; aluminium windings and fibre-glass insulation can also be given. Power factor correction capacitor are given against specific order. Oil-cooled machines are offered without oil.
