It measures the accuracy of the mechanical wrenches through precision strain gauge based torque transducer and is connected to a microprocessor-based digital indicator. Mechanical torque wrenches are ineffective if they are not calibrated properly, so that an independent calibration unit is a must. The measurements are performed by setting the torque wrench horizontally on the calibration unit. Loads can be applied to the effective length of the wrench with loading device [manual or motorised]. The force applied by turning the handle is very smooth, eliminating the possibility of any errors. Torque is determined when the wrench slips at preadjusted value and reading is obtained on a microprocessor-based digital indicator having a peak hold facility to hold the value at which the wrench slips.
