Micro-flat provides cast iron surface plates. These cast iron surface plate provides a precision reference for spotting, tool making and inspection of parts, checking of accuracy of other surfaces and for many types of gauging and marking out operations. Some general specifications of these plates includesalient features: made generally as per is 2285 91, from good quality close grained high duty cast iron conforming to grade fg 220 of is 210, duly stress relieved; offered with hand scraped finish in various grades of accuracies, ie, grade o, grade 1, grade 2 and grade 3; bearing area shall not be less than 20% for grade o, 15% for grade 1 and 10% for grade 2 and grade 3; flatness deviation of any local area of 250 x 250 mm of working surface not exceeding: 0.003 mm for grade o, 0.007 mm for grade 1, 0.015 mm for grade 2 and 0.030 mm for grade 3; and small plates up to 630 x 630 mm provided with ms handles for lifting, larger plates without handles but provided with cored holes in peripheral for lifting by mechanical means. There are some additional features such as;additional features like grid lines for location, tapped holes, t slots, t slots with bench centre attachment, etc, provided upon request at extra cost.
