The meco watt/var meter uses a built-in electronic transducer circuit and provides distinct advantages over the conventional electro-dynamometer type wattmeter. Being compact in size, meco wattmeters occupy less panel space yet provide a longer linear scale with option between 90o and 240o deflection for higher resolution. These meters have a very low power consumption thereby avoiding loading of cts. Use of alnico-8 magnet results in high torque to weight ratio. Measurement is by self-shielded permanent magnet moving coil meter. Lightweight of moving system gives higher endurance to withstand shocks, bumps and vibration. Use of simple mounting, brackets and pre-wired connector, eases maintenance and reduces replacement time. These instruments fully comply with the requirements associated with ce mark with proven electromagnetic compatibility in accordance with en 50082-2 and product safety compatibility in accordance with iec-1010[1].
