Universal meter is a microprocessor based digital electrical multi-meter. This electrical multimeter is used for measurement of different electrical parameters, viz, voltage, current, power, energy, maximum demand, projected demand, running demand, frequency, power factor, date and time, for use with balanced or unbalanced, for single or 3-phase loads. There are some technical features of this multimeter which include: it can display one set of parameters at a time as indicated below: electrical data: voltage and current of each phase; power factors of each of the 3 phases with lead/lag information; real power [kw]; apparent power [kva]; reactive power [kvar]; real energy [kwhr]; apparent energy [kvahr]; reactive energy [kvarhr]; max demand; balance time; projected demand; running demand; system power factor and frequency, and date and time. It is also possible to obtain 3 types of printouts, viz, instantaneous status report showing values of 19 different parameters, and periodic status report of 11 parameters with high and low values and load curve by connecting to an external 80-column printer. Optionally, for downloading the data to a computer, the facility is providedit is possible to provide facility for downloading the data to a computer. This multimeter can be fitted in any panel in an existing cut-out of 144 sq mm and this multimeter finds its applications in is useful for all industries, wind power generators, generator panel manufacturers, textile mills, etc, to obtain complete information on all electrical parameters and control energy consumption and max demand.
