Datalogic [india] has introduced a compact contrast sensor for foreground and background suppression series s6r. The s6r series is encased in a 50 x 50 mm compact housing. This contrast sensor model, with white light emission and 22 mm operating distance, comes as a proximity model with 5 to 20 cm foreground suppression . These are used in food and pharma packaging where aluminium foils or transparent films are extensively used and the detection of belt or other objects have to be prevented.
