Gopani products systems [gps] provides rayon wound filter cartridges useful for filtering organic solvents, and animal, petroleum, and vegetable oils. The wound depth rayon cartridges are useful for operation at 1210 c temperatures and are an economical alternative when food and drug grade rayon cartridges are not required. The fluid compatibility of the rayon wound filter cartridges are similar to bleached cotton, but with more coarse fibers, and are less absorbent than cotton. These rayon wound filter cartridges swells in aqueous solutions. The rayon wound filter cartridges offers true depth filtration through hundreds of tapered filtering passages of controlled size and shape. The diagonal winding of roving on a center core of the rayon wound filter cartridges makes it firm interlocking weave results preventing channeling and by passing, and reduces fiber migration. As the rayon wound filter cartridges are wound, each layer of roving is napped to increase filtration capabilities and adds to true depth filtration by trapping its share of particles. The irregular outer surface of the rayon wound filter cartridges helps in preventing surface blinding and helps to assure longer cartridge life and full cartridge utilization. The rayon wound filter cartridges provide an increased gradual pressure during cartridge life versus surface-type media having abrupt flow cut-off when loaded.
