Info electronics systems presents forecast workstatiom systems [fws]. The forecaster workstation [fws] is a powerful graphics workstation capable of handling various types of meteorological data and providing a powerful environment for briefing and forecasting. It consists of three components: max, edigraf and alpha manager. Max is a work tool for displaying the data generated by the analyses, forecast models [meteorological fields] and observed data using standard meteorological symbols. Edigraf is a program designed to create and edit weather forecast charts. It allows users to display, and edit, over a selected geographical region, all the elements involved in producing a chart: precipitation zones, cloud zones, fronts, symbols, highs/lows, layers [cloud bases and tops, sky cover, turbulence, etc.] and isolines [isobars, freezing levels, etc.]. Alpha manager is a piece of software that makes the alphanumeric data accessible on the proposed fws. Various types of queries based on report/bulletin type, source, time, etc. Are available on the system.
