Automation & control has developed many high quality units for the automatic measurement of dimensions like inner diameter, outer diameter, width, height, etc. Recently the company has supplied one such unit to one reputed sinter component manufacturer for the 100% inspection of the valves seats.
The valve seat has chamfer only on one side. The auto gauging unit measures: -
1] outer diameter
2] width;
3] detects chamfer and its orientation.
The unit consists of following:
1] rotary hopper
2] belt conveyor
3] chamfer orientation unit
4] measuring station with lvdt probes for the measurement of od, width and chamfer
5] segregation unit for removing the rejected components. The entire sequence of operation is controlled through plc.
The auto-gauging unit improves the reliability of the supply.
