The capping machine is used for capping of pet bottles, any pet bottle can be capped. However the capping die may vary according to the cap diameter. The machine basically consists of a stand on which is mounted a ΒΌ hp motor with an attached gearbox. The capping die is fitted on the output shaft of the gearbox. The die rotates at an approximate speed of 70 rpm. A stainless steel plate set is mounted below the rotating die on which the bottle to be capped is held. After the pet bottle is filled with whatever is required, the cap is placed on it and the bottle is kept on the bottle holding plate on the machine by pressing the foot pedal. The capping die then automatically holds the cap and the rotating die tightens the cap on the bottle.
After the cap has fully tightened on the bottle, the die slips in the holder and then the bottle is taken out. This whole operation takes about 4-5 seconds depending upon the dexterity of the operator. The advantage of the machine is that all the bottles are evenly tightened and operator fatigue is low. The amount of tightness required can be adjusted with the help of spring-loaded ball provided. About 10 bottles can be capped per minute
