The hydrostatic operation is a combination of a hydraulic pump and a motor, which provides a high starting torque at zero rpm . This arrangement makes a hydraulic variable speed drive ideal for frequent start-stop cycles while getting away from peak current required by an electric motor at start. Built-in torque limiting valve, either preset or adjustable, helps preventing mechanical damage in case of accidental and sudden stops. These hydraulic variable speed drives are available from 0.25 to 22 kw[0.5 to 30 hp] in many sizes. A very special model has a speed-range, of 0.25 to 4 kw [0.5 to 5.5 hp]. It is available in 5 different sizes. The hydraulic variable speed drives are available with or without the standard electric motor. There are 3 different output speed ranges with standard input speed of electric motor at 1450 rpm at all times: 0-1000-0 rpm, 0-1430-0 rpm and 0-2000-0 rpm. High starting torques, equal to 2 to 3 times nominal, for frequent starts or reversals and continuous work at low speeds, even under load, with even high torques than nominal. These are ideal drives, for bad conditions like, vibrations or aggressive or dangerous or poorly ventilated environments, even water-resistant and explosion-proof. These hydraulic variable speed drives are suitable for ambient conditions, which require water or dust proof construction. Constant low speed with continuous duty is possible, suitable for continuous and fast changes of speed, or direction of rotation. The only maintenance required is change of oil after every 2000 hrs.
