Mipalloy manufactures mipalloy-4, a 2% beryllium copper material. This material has very high hardness in the range of 35-45 hrc, high fatigue strength, high strength and high elastic modulus. This material is used for manufactures of stud welder collets, plunger tips, flash butt welder dies, etc. Stud welder collets when made out of mipalloy-4 material have a very high hardness, moderate electrical conditivity and excellent spring properties. Since elastic modulus is high in mipalloy-4 material a large displacement and high contact pressure can be obtained. Also, it can be used in a wide range of temperature and has excellent properties at elevated temperatures. These properties contribute to very long service life. Mipalloy manufactures wide range of collets for various stud welding applications. Since mipalloy-4 material has high mechanical strength, the size of the component can be reduced.
