Pyramid industries manufactures a rope-making machine, model prs 1016. This machine makes 3 strand ropes from all types of synthetics and natural fibers and it produces ropes having diameter from 10 mm to 16 mm. Feeding of the rope-making machine: feeding of the machine: the machine is fed directly by extrusion bobbins. It can be fed by untwisted, pre twisted, piled or a ply yarn machine. It can also use yarn from the in flow ply yarn machine. The size of the extrusion standard bobbin is 250 mm x 305 mm. The machine frame is particularly strong and sturdy to sustain high-speed flyer rotation. The safety guards have multiple uses and are easy to handle. A very fine sensitive friction device is used to regulate the amount of tension. Rolling type traverse mechanism is used for uniform winding. Rope lay length can be varied from 26 mm to 60 mm by changing spur gears. Variation of pre twisting ratio can be obtained by changing the timing of pulley in three stages - minimum 1.8 to maximum 2.2 times. The pay off and take-up sections are driven by a 15 hp dc motor [11.2 kw]. Synchronous drive between the two pay off and take up section is by heavy-duty universal joint coupling.
