Cast polymers offers a range of polymer products. Teflon [ptfe] is available in the following range: rods, sheets and bushes. Specific gravity- 2.13 2.22; hardness: shore d -50 65; melting point: 327c [621[f]; working temperature: 260 c [500[f]; water absorption: < 0.01 % [24 hours] and colour - white. Teflon products are extremely resistant to oxidation, surface fouling, discoloration and embrittlement. These are resistant to most aggressive organic/inorganic chemicals and solvents, over a broad temperature range. High dielectric strength, low dielectric constant, low loss factors and extremely high specific resistance, and lowest co efficient of friction of any solid material, are some of the major benefits. Thus it is preferred plastic for a host of applications and different processing techniques.
