The Network Control Center in a Rack enables the interconnection of up to 16 strong motion recorders in a star topology network to provide a high reliability distributed data acquisition system. Distributed recording allows digital data transmission to the Network Control Center for better data quality with low cost, easy-to-handle fiber optic [lightning immune] or current loop cable. The NCC Lite [NCCL] in a field case provides control functions for smaller networks of up to 8 recorders.
The Network Control Center in a Rack provides time synchronization; common sampling, common triggering; network voting logic; high and low level alarm activation, etc.
