The altitronic professional from revue thommen, ag, switzerland, represents an electronic measuring instrument of high precision, which can be used for altitude and temperature measurement or barometric observations and tendencies. The professional technology guarantees a high degree of reliability and a maintenance-free, safe operation. The multifunctionality of the altitronic professional also meets the requirements of the customers and environmental conditions. Its high accuracy, long service life and easy, user friendly operation make it ideal for relative and absolute altitude measurements, measurements of differences in altitude, and exact measurements of the barometric air pressure, long term observations, and meteorological stations. The altitronic professional can be used in stationary application with the power adaptor, or in field application using the internal 9 v battery. According to application, measured values can be continuously recorded via an interface and personal computer or manually interrogated. By means of config-menus different functions can be programmed, as for example the units of measurement [mbar, hpa, mmhg, inh20, inhg, psia °c, °f, metres, feet], automatic cut-off, temperature compensation, base setting of the absolute pressure [qnh] or the altitude [nn] and the possibility of recalibration. In a range of applications of up to 10,000 metres the altitronic professional measures the relative and absolute altitudes to ±2 m or ± 10 m exactly, and this with a resolution of 1 metre. The absolute pressure is indicated within an error limit of ±1 hpa [1 mbar]. Temperature measurement is carried out using an external pt 1000 probe.
