Wilco AG, Switzerland manufactures various leak testers for the automotive industry. The range of products tested includes oil filters, fuel filters, petrol tanks, active carbon filters, etc. Both manual and on-line testers can be supplied. Recently, the company manufactured a linear leak tester to carries out two separate tests. First the seams of the filter are checked with high pressure. In the second test, a leak inspection of the filter takes place. Another very sophisticated tester carries out three tests with every sample: a function test of the leak detection pump, a leak test by dif-ferential pressure method and an air flow measurement bet-ween filter openings. If a faulty filter is detected, leak indicators and an alarm signal are triggered. The photograph shows a new machine developed for automatic on-line non-destructive testing of motor oil filters of different sizes. It is a 6 station tester with a capacity of 2,000 filters/hour.
