The glycerine is a precursor for many polymers, such as alkyd resins, but also as starter for polyether polyols for use in flexible polyurethane foams and polyurethane coating resins. Its trifunctionality provides a good means for cross linking polymers. The Glycerine is available in ranges of colors as low as 10 apha and good color stability, in particular in presence of harsh alkoxylation catalysts such as potassium hydroxide.
