National instruments manufactures an intelligent ethernet fp-20xx network module for fieldpoint which manages a mode up to nine fieldpoint i/o modules consisting of any analogue and discrete i/o in the fieldpoint product line including dual-channel modules and terminal bases. The resulting fp-20xx-based mode can automatically negotiate for 10 baset or 100 basetx ethernet connection for network communication. This intelligent ethernet network module fp-20xx module also include rs-232 serial port to communicate with other serial devices in the system including serial fieldpoint systems and serial radio modems. For data and application storage the fp-20xx modules fp-2000 with 3 mb and fp-2010 with 11 mb flash memory are provided with almost same functionality and specifications. The fp-20xx are also provided with optional code and the modules can execute one simple pid loop up to 370 hz or 8 pid loops [two 8-channel i/o modules] up to 300 hz with the loop rates dependent on labview execution priority settings.
